|
|
I understand that when a zone is excluded by unchecking the "include in model" tick box under the activity tab, the adjoining walls to other zones are set to an adiabatic condition.
There is, however, still an option given under the wall construction to set the adjacency of walls in next door zones to "strongly ventilated space".
Can you confirm that the overriding condition is the adiabatic one?
I am modelling an open sided car park adjacent to and partly under an office building. I do not want to include the car park itself in the model. If my above understanding is correct, then is there another way of doing this, to apply a strongly ventilated condition to an exterior wall of a model?

You should include the car park in the model but at the car park zone level-activity tab set the zone type as semi-exterior unconditioned. The party walls between the zones should be defined as semi-exposed walls, any floors/ceilings to the car park should also be defined as semi-exposed floors/ceilings. When you've done the calculation you will see that the assessed area is that of your building less any semi-exterior or non-included zones. Unticking 'Include In Model' is not appropriate in this situation.
