SBEM 3.4.b is now close to release. This is a brief description of the changes which it is worth bearing in mind for data collection in your latest projects. There are a few other minor changes but these should not require consideration before the update is applied. Please note that this description is based on a beta release specification from bre

1.You will now be able to specify hot water storage cylinder losses by providing insulation type (none/loose/factory fitted+thickness)
2.Window framing percentage will be required
3.Republic of Ireland assessments will require date of construction of building
4.More detail will be required in the specification of solar thermal:
- generic type (unglazed/flat/tube)
- storage (volume, separate/combined, insulation (none/loose/factory fitted+thickness))
- circulation type (thermosiphon/forced) and pump power if available/applicable
also
- you will need to specify if pipework is insulated or power supply from PV
- you will be able to specify collector performance according to BS EN 12975-2 if available/appropriate

Regards
Andrew

Hi,
I have just been notified by CIBSE that the new version is required from 6th March 2010, will a new version of DesignBuilder be released in time for this cut off date?

Hi Tim,

We're not sure if we'll be able to get our new version ready for 7th March cut off yet and will be emailing out to this effect soon. So i suggest that if you have EPCs needing lodging over the next couple weeks to try to get them in before next weekend.
