|
|
Hello
Kindly let me know as in how exactly is the CO2 emission calculated in Design builder. The help manual says the CO2 is calculated from Fuel totals using locally published CO2 emission of the specific region.
So does it take into consideration only the CO2 emitted by the fuel?
if so then what about the CO2 emission by lighting fixtures and other electrical equipments?
Is embodied carbon considered in this Co2 emission figure in the output result?
Thank you |

Yes, but fuel includes all fuel types: Gas, Electricty, Solid fuel, etc., not just heating/cooling fuel.
>if so then what about the CO2 emission by lighting fixtures and other electrical equipments?
The electricty consumed is multiplied by the carbon emission factor for electricty entered for your location.
>Is embodied carbon considered in this Co2 emission figure in the output result?
No but embodied carbon data can be obtained from the CSV report exported from the File menu. There will be a full embodied carbon report provided on a DB results screen in v3.

I just noticed that you put this question on the EPC forum. Presumably your question refers to use of EnergyPlus simulation though?
