I have recently installed DB v.3.0.0.043. I am running DB on Vista 32-bit. I am trying to import a revit project.
I have tried using the standard gbXML import/export and the building plenums do not import correctly.
I read that there is a plugin to check the gbXML file prior to exporting it. When I go to export it, there are no .dsb options or any DB checking options.
Does the plugin automatically install or is there other steps I must take in order to get the plugin to work? |

The DesignBuilder plugin for Revit should install when you install DesignBuilder v3. You should be able to access the DesignBuilder icon from the Revit Addins toolbar.

Hi
The designbuilder plugin works with all versions of the REVIT (2010, 2011, and 2012)?
I already install REVIT architecture (2010 and 2012) and REVIT MEP (2012) (all 32bits trial versions), but I don’t have any icon of the DB in addins toolbar.
Thanks

Hi Tiago,
The DesignBuilder Revit plugin is only available in 32-bit versions of Revit. Are you perhaps running the 64-bit version of Revit?
We are in the process of extending the plugin to allow access through 64-bit Revit as well.

Hi Andy.
Yes...all versions I tried were 32 bits and trial versions. I tried this in a virtual machine with win7 32bits and other with winxp 32bits.
Any idea why this doesn't work?
Can be because the revit is trial version? Inside of the REVIT I don't have the addin toolbar visible.
Can you do a print screen to show me where can I find the DB plugin icon inside of Revit, please?
Thanks
Regards

Actually I think that the DB Revit plugin currently only works with Revit 2011, 32-bit. Did you try that version?
I think that the Add in toolbar should be visible whether the DB plugin is installed or not. I'll ask our Revit plugin developer to comment.

Thank you Andy, for your fast replies.
I installed the revit Architecture 2011 (32 bits - trial version) like you said but without sucess. :S
I installed too the revit Architecture 2012 (32 bits - trial version) and the DB v3 in a physical computer but nothing happened...
I don't know why the DB icon don't appears inside of Revit in addins toolbar...
Can you send me a printscreen of the DB icon inside of Revit please?
I have models built in Revit and now I need export to DB. I tried export these files using the gbXML option but when I imported the file into DB I have some errors in model. So, this plugin can be my solution.
I stay wait for the comment of the Revit plugin developer....thanks.
Thanks
Best Regards

Sucess!!!
After the installation of the revit 2011 and DB I rebooted the virtual machine twice, and the addins button appeared with the DB export option.
Thank you very much. I will test this option more later.
Best regards,

Hi Marco,
No sorry, we need to develop a 64 bit version of our CAD component first and there have been delays with this.

Yes we're getting the message now!
Actually we've had a breakthrough today and expect to provide a version that works on Revit 64 bit very soon.
