Dear organisation,
For a project we want to investigate the natural ventilation potential in residential units. We want to do some external cfd study's to extract the correct Cp values.
Secondly internal study's wil be excecuted. The windows however appear to be top hung windows. how do i implement this in the study?
Do i set at the buildinglevel_editlayer--> cfd tab the boundary settings as Aperature position at bottom .
Or do i have to set the settings at--> building level_edit layer openings_tab external windows--> operation...% glazing opens, with setting the correct schedule. Do the work together?
I am confused what procedure i need to follow in order to to set this correctly. Would be keen on some assistance. |

Hi,
The CFD tab settings only apply to the CFD calculations whereas the Operation settings on the Openings tab apply to the EnergyPlus calculations. So you need to adjust the opening Operations settings as required for the project, carry out the EnergyPlus simulation and then use the CFD tab settings to define which quadrant and specific area for each opening the EnergyPlus calculated air flow will be distributed across for the CFD calculation.
Hope this is clearer.
Regards,
