When a certain system hvac template has been applied to some zones, where a boiler room is required to provide hot water, does there need to be specific settings on the building level zone (i.e. a boiler) in order to work. Likewise if a ducted air system hvac template is selected for a zone, does the building level have to equal that selected template?
Thanks again

You can find the rules on DesignBuilder compact HVAC at:
http://www.designbuilder.co.uk/programhelp/hvac_system_type.htm
If you're using one of the centrally ducted systems then the compact HVAC setting at the building level must at least be of the same type (CAV/VAV/Unitary multizone) as the zones connected to the air handling unit. It doesn't have to be exactly the same HVAC template though.
Zones using fancoil units and unitary single zone systems have no restrictions and only use boiler and chiller efficiency data from the building level, all other data coming from the zone level. |
