Linda,
Let me make sure I understand what is going on.

Are you saying when you build a window in Window 5, that the glazing data for each spectrum (Solar Transmission, Visible Trans, thermal IR ...

This still does not seem to be fixed.

I made another 3 pane window
Pane #1: Clear
Pane #2: PPG SolarBan 60 (Low-e Surface #3)
Pane #3: PPG SolarBan 60 (Low-e Surface #5)

WIndow 5 gives me a S ...

Thanks for including the glazing database. But there is one big problem: when assembling a a glazing unit sometimes the panes need to be flipped to get the low-e on the right side. Design builder is m ...

If a lower floor has a thick wall and the upper floor has and thin wall, design builder creates external floor along the edge perimeter. It's obvious why this happens (because DB creates the simulatio ...

PostForum: DesignBuilder Support   Posted: Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:40 pm   Subject: DB loading E+ data is Slooooow
Laurent,

The load time is about 2-3 times as long as the simulation time regardless of the time to simulate. So a 3 minute simulation is 7-9 minutes in load time. A 20 minute simulation takes about ...

Andy,

as long as we are discussing date ranges: could you increase the warmup time range beyond 100 days? Or allow more than 1 year of simulation? We find that high mass buildings take more than a ...

There are several issues with the graphs:

1. We need to be able to get cumulative bar graphs for arbitrary date ranges not just anuual. So instead of just a day input, there need to be date range d ...

This is a huge need for us too. Without some way to set infiltration, simulation is dubious at best. Infiltration is as important and insulation (sometimes more). Yet you wouldn't consider only having ...

Have you put effort into the code efficiency for loading the data back from E+? Right now it is unbearable. It often takes 3 times as long to load the data than to simulate it. This is crazy slow.

Yes, that isn't possible in E+.

But what about using schedules to chose between two different shading objects (one with 70% transparency and another with 95% transparency)

I noticed the "include IDF file" field in the simulation settings. Can this be used to inject features not available in DB? Is it viable to use this were it has to interact with a DB defined component ...

I have a notebook compendium of efficiency from multiple sources. But this wikipedia article has accurate data for luminous efficiency of a few light types:
