Basically, when you get a Fatal Error and then node connection errors, you should ignore those node connection errors until you fix the thing that caused the Fatal Error.

EnergyPlus receives the Fa ...

EnergyPlus has the refrigerated case -- if that's what you're doing. Otherwise, it should be capable of those numbers -- if you can model your refrigeration system to that low a degree.

PostForum: EnergyPlus Simulation   Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2008 2:16 pm   Subject: Simulation time
One of the things we've found to make EnergyPlus most time consuming is the number of surfaces and even more, the number of shading surfaces total in the facility.

It is true, many shading devices (as will many building surfaces) will cause the simulation to be slower. Simplifying the model can help.

If DesignBuilder does not yet support PV, you always have the option of exporting your IDF file and adding to it from the EnergyPlus tools.

You may want to look at the EnergyPlus documentation on "refrigerated cases". If you decide to use those, you will most likely have to export your DB file into IDF and work singly with them. (I don' ...

It depends. In some of the US Southwestern states, a heavy (i.e. concrete) uninsulated wall is very effective in being able to extend the cooler night time temperatures and, in those cases, a more he ...

I would think you would need to specify it like other WindowGlass materials.

In EnergyPlus terms:
! The values after the name are:
! Th: Thickness (m)
! Ts: Solar transmittance at normal i ...

EnergyPlus has no limits for number of zones. (Gee one of it's precursors had 100 zones as a limit - BLAST - so not sure where you got 80 from).

What's more crucial is how detailed you present t ...

Yes, would like to know if this is still a problem with the latest ExpandObjects/DB version (even if beta version, if possible). Would like to track it down for you.

What I found of most influence for EnergyPlus simulations was the memory, not the processor speed. (this is a single core example though).

In the EnergyPlus readme, I note:

If possible, would some one upload the IDF file for this project. I am not currently where I can access DB to process the DSB project file.
