Hi dear DB users,
I intend to calculate the "solar gain from exterior windows" for a zone in an office building for my thesis project. I made simulations the solar gains on 4th of July(extreme summer day) and 20th of February(extreme winter day) for the same zone for 11.00 o'clock. But, the solar gain amount of the winter day is much more than summer day(i did not use solar control- everything is the same for two situations ). I made the same simulations for other buildings in order to see if the program works well, however the result is not changed. How can it be described in a scientific way?
Please reply my trouble question. Your help will be unique:)
Thank you with best regards. |

Have you looked at the angle the sun enters the zone ?
In july at noon, the sun is rather perpendicular to a south oriented window en the amount of sun entering the zone is lower than in february when the sun can enter the whole building(especially when you didn't draw neighbour buildings)

Thank you so much for your unique answer.
In fact I thought in this way but i was duobt about whether it is the main fact which lies under the simulation results i gained or not.
Thank you again with best regards.
