Hello,

When I place two building blocks against eachother, DB automatically generates holes on the walls between the two blocks.
I would like to know how I can remove those holes.

I've already tried to clear "Keep default openings" in Drawing options, but this doesn't lead me to the wanted result.

Thans for your help,

Filip

Filip,

At the moment, as far as I know, it is not possible to remove those holes, as they are necessary for generate correct geometry data. You could see also this DB forum topic:

www.designbuilder.co.uk/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,25/page,viewtopic/t,654/highlight,holes+blocks/

Best regards,

Arturo

I do not understand this concept: when I draw 2 adiacent blocks, I see that DesignBuilder creates a double partition between them and not a hole, so for me the problem is exactly the contrary.

There is a help topic that explains how DesignBuilder connects blocks using 'interblock partition' and 'Wall (with hole)' surfaces:

http://www.designbuilder.co.uk/programhelp/surface_types.htm

The key to understanding this is to know that interblock partitions connect the blocks and 'Wall (with hole)' surfaces are what is left after the interblock partitions have been cut out of the original wall. The diagrams in the help should clarify this.

You write that "Block link surfaces are excluded from the calculations by default to keep the size of models down but you can change the setting under Miscellaneous Edit on the Advanced tab of the Model options dialog to include them", but I cannot find this setting. Is it present in the 1.4.0.003 beta too?

Yes, it's still there, but now it's called 'Generate fully enclosed zones'.
