Single Pitch Roof and Awning

The model I am trying to evaluate is a 3 storey building and is made up of an existing building with a concrete roof and a 6 metre extension to the building which has a single pitch metal deck roof with the slope starting approximately 600mm above the existing concrete roof and sloping downwards for approximately 1100mm beyond the building perimeter (approximate pitch is 2 degrees).

Additionally, there is an metal awning about 1500mm above the metal deck roof that extends approximately 6000mm past the edge of the building.

My questions are:

1. How do you create the metal deck roof on the model

2. How do you create the awning

You assistance is appreciated.

You can draw block perimeters using any plane in DesignBuilder and there are various ways of defining this plane. If you look in the Help section under Building Models->Building Geometry->Working With Blocks->Adding Blocks, you should find a method that will suit your particular requirement. Similarly under this same Help section you will find another section, Adding Blocks->Block Creation Options->Block Types->Component Blocks, which should help you in creating the awning. If you're still not sure how to tackle this, please send us an image file with a sketch showing the finished geometry you want to achieve.
