|

Hi,
Does anyone know how to resize the walls once the model is complete? For example, if I created a 10 m partition wall but I want to change it to 8 m, can I resize it without deleting it.
Thanks

If you're referring to internal block partitions, you can move, copy and rotate them but you can't stretch them.
You can of course just connect a new partition to the end of an existing partition. If the resulting partitions are colinear, they'll be automatically merged to form a single partition. |

| Thank for your quick response. Will the same principle apply to exterior walls (and/or winodws) as well? In other words we cannnot change the dimensions only move, copy and rotate, right? |

You can change the dimensions of an existing block by dragging a face or stretching it but you can't stretch windows.

I have a related question. Can I create a DB report with different areas (rooms/building, walls/windows)? I can see the areas at the front panel but not sure how to create a report..
thanks

DesignBuilder version 1.1 does not provide a report of the different areas of walls/windows etc, but we expect to provide this later in the summer.
You may already know that you can get a breakdown of surface area, U-values, orientations, adjacencies etc by looking at the EnergyPlus eplusout.eio file in a spreadsheet following a simulation. To get this you should open the Advanced tab on the simulation options dialog prior to the simulation, open the Output header and switch on "Construction and surface details". This data is only generated for simulations using hourly weather data.
