I want to have shades that are 100% covering for part of the year and 65% covering for part of the year. It looks like I can only have shades turned on or off (no partial shading).
So is it possible with schedules to schedule 1 shade type for summer, and 1 shade type for winter?
In other words: Schedules seem to be set to adjust the amount of something, can they be used to switch between the type of something?
thanks |

Sorry, I wasn't specific enough
I meant internal shades, blinds, etc. |

This is not currently possible with EnergyPlus:
| EnergyPlus manual wrote: | When a shading device is present it is either retracted or activated. When it is retracted it covers none of the window. When it is activated it covers the entire glazed part of the window (but not the frame). Whether the shading device is retracted or activated in a particular time
step depends on the control mechanism |

Yes, that isn't possible in E+.
But what about using schedules to chose between two different shading objects (one with 70% transparency and another with 95% transparency) |

| Yes true, you can do what you suggest by using the OnIfScheduleAllows Shading Control Type in WindowShadingControl as described in the E+ manual. and using the “Name of Construction with Shading” approach to shading definition. |
