Hi DB,

I'm having quite a strange problem, I've put window shading controlled by inside air temperature and solar gains almost remain the same (as a variant without shading). Still the inside air temperature is way above 22°C.

What could be the cause of this problem?

P.S.: I'll send you the file...

My tests suggest that the solar control is working correctly and that in zones with cooling the air temperature is often below 22degC because the cooling system is controlled using operative temperature.

This can be seen most clearly using sub-hourly results as shown in graph below. In the Self banking zone there is a 25% reduction in solar gains due to the temperature controlled blinds over a spring period.

I would suggest that the temperature control method used for the blinds is not compatible with the operative temperature control used for the cooling system - consider using air temperature control or adjusting the blind control temperature so that the blinds operate to reduce cooling loads.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Now it's clear why the shading was acting "strange".

But I think it would be a great feature if the shading control could be met by operative temperature. Maybe an idea for a next release...?

Bye,
Filip
