Hi all,
I have recently installed the latest DB Beta after a period of absence from the programme and I have to say the updates and changes seem pretty good!
Unfortunately I am having some problems in that when I create a new building on a brand new site the walls, floors and roofs appear as pairs of triangles (see attached image). I cannot understand why this is suddenly occuring, nor whether it is just a visual bug or will actually have an effect on calculations. Simulations seem to be running correctly, so I suppose that it may not be a problem.
I read an earlier post where a user on an earlier version of DB had a similar problem however the response suggested that all later versions should not suffer the same fault. Is this the same issue reappearing as a legacy of the old one? Or a new issue altogether perhaps?
Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
Andrew Lester

Hi Andrew,
I think this is just an OpenGL display problem that you're experiencing and it's probably due to the graphics card driver on your machine. I would suggest that you download and install the latest driver for your card and see if that remedies the problem.
Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I've been trying to work through this issue, but so far I am having no luck. I've tried the latest drivers and controls for my graphics card, along with latest version of DB, but nothing seems to be working out.
Do you have any further suggestion as to what the issue might be? If it were just a display issue with no other problems I'd be unconcerned to be honest, but the program occasionally locks up or even quits, and after lock-ups the display no longer has the diagonal lines mentioned earlier, instead it shows the building blocks outlined in heavy black lines and response to inputs becomes extremely laggy.
I would appreciate any advice you could offer. The card being used is an ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro using latest drivers and Catalyst Control Centre.
Thanking you in advance,
Andrew Lester

Hi Andrew,
What operating system are you using? Perhaps you could upload your diagnostics log file which you will find in the folder above the DB Library Data folder.

Steve

I hope this is of some use, I've been scratching my head trying to figure out why this graphics error keeps happening (and why it forces the program to lag etc.)
Once again, thank you for all your help with this.
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Everything appears to be okay in the log file. We have had a couple of problems reported concerning the specific graphics card that you are using and so we will need to look into this further. We will let you know what we find in due course.
Regards,
Steve
