Hi, I'm trying to analise thermal confort in some buildings but after simulating I don't get any results.
I send one of the files as an example.
Could someone please help me on this subject.
thanks in advance,
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
I have run your model a few times with different settings. Curiously enough, if I left the "Gains Data" setting in the Model Options to "Lumped", no matter what I did to the model (i.e. setting gains to 200W/m2 AND people to 1/m2 AND turning off all ventilation in summer) I could not cause any discomfort hours. The comfort data can be seen, it is just that the value for discomfort hours is constantly a 0, even when internal temperature reaches 45degC! If you set the Gains data to early, you will have to deal with a more complex array of variables, but you will be able to get comfort reports.
This situation was the same on a model of mine based in New Zealand, so seems to be nothing to do with regional settings nor template profiles. I am not sure why discomfort hours can not be reported when gains are set as lumped. Perhaps the occupancy is not being passed to the comfort report variables? Hopefully someone from DB Support can offer us some insight.
In the meantime Miguel, I suggest you set "Gains Data" to "Early" rather than "Lumped" and make any necessary adjustments to match your model parameters.
Good luck,
Andrew Lester

Hi Andrew,
Thnks once more!!!
The results you obtain match with mines.
It would be nice to have some support from DB team.
One more thing:
When looking to E+ results there's a warning saying that the variables were asked but not possible to produce outputs.
Maybe this can be of some help for DB team.
Mean while I will change gains to early as you suggest.
Best regards,
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
Comfort output is not supported with lumped gains because in EnergyPlus the request for comfort calculations is made in the 'PEOPLE' statement and this is not used with lumped gains. I will add this information to the documentation for clarification in the future.
