|
|
Hi,
In the attached file zone “sala norte” and “zone 3” are connected by a hole.
Trying to verify the effect of south window (located in “zone 3”) I’ve deleted this zone to compare results.
What surprised me was that with or without “zone 3” solar gains were equal.
Can someone help me understanding why this happens?
Best regards,
Miguel

Miguel,
It looks like you have switched ON, merge zones connected by holes in the Advanced tab of the Model Option. Try switching it off..

Hi Mahabir,
thank you very much for your reply.
I've tested your sugestion and I obtain results for both zones, but what I wanted was that this 2 zones worked as one, and produced results as one.
So my question is:
Can I simulte both zones as one? how?
best regards,
Miguel

Miguel,
To simulate both zones as one, you will need to check on - merge zones connected by holes.

Hi Mahabir,
Sorry but I'm a little bit confused now.
First you suggested separating zones, and now you suggest merging them?
If you look to the attached file, both zones were “ merge zones connected by holes”.
Verified this condition what I expected was that solar gains in zone 3 (south window) would have influence in simulation results for zone “sala Norte”.
But unexpectedly, at least for me, when I delete zone 3 in the model and run a new simulation I get the same results for solar gains in “sala Norte” as before.
Can you please help me solving this mistery…
Miguel

Miguel,
I am sorry I forgot to mention that you should change the Scope (in Model Option) from Zone+Shading to Building. When you do this you will see a large difference in solar gain changes with or without block 3..
I hope it helps..
regards,
Mahabir
