Different wall thickness upstairs and down

If a lower floor has a thick wall and the upper floor has and thin wall, design builder creates external floor along the edge perimeter. It's obvious why this happens (because DB creates the simulation wall plane at the thickness setback from the outside plane) - still it is wrong behavior and caused erroneous results.

Could you have E+ ignore the floor gap between the the two planes?

yes possibly, we can look into it. In the meantime you can in most cases set the external floor construction to have a very large r-value.
