hello DB users,
i'm trying to simulate a big office building, but i'm not sure how many zones i can use and consequently how exact i can simulate this building.
i have heard that the maximum number of zones that can be calculated is about 80.
so, does anybody of you has experience in simulating big builings with many zones.
it would be nice if you can tell me what was your maximum number of zones and which computer you used to simulate your building and how has it worked?
regards
max
EnergyPlus has no limits for number of zones. (Gee one of it's precursors had 100 zones as a limit - BLAST - so not sure where you got 80 from).
What's more crucial is how detailed you present the surfaces in the models and shading devices.
Usually, the more zones and surfaces, the longer time the model will take to simulate. Don't use an annual run the first time out - is one suggestion. _________________ Linda
