|
|
Hello
I have now downloaded the latest version of DB v.076.
I am working on an EPC for a 1980's office block which uses gas 'combi' boilers for heating and DHW. The building also utilises a number of recently added split systems to provide cooling to a number of individual rooms. I am attempting to enter this specification into the model.
I read somewhere that BRE guidance for entering the cooling system into SBEM is as a split system, heat pump/air source, fuel type: gas. Is this correct? The split units are only being utilised to provide cooling from grid electric and are operated independent from the building gas heating boiler.
With the split fuel type set at gas the AR is very close to a new build rating..
Thanks any advice welcome. |

Did you have any joy with this, I am having the same problem.
I have seen the note on DB about using the splits etc with gas as fuel. If that is the case what do you put for the controls, as the LTHW system and splits are completely independant and are not linked in anyway?
This type of zone set up must occur all the time. |

Hi Rob/John
When you specify an HVAC system which is classed as Heating and Cooling then you can specify the Heating system seperately under the Heating Tab. So you can have one system providing heating and another cooling in the same zone. If the heating is LTHW boiler then I believe the assumption is the distribution is through radiators.

I have the same query. DB will not let me use gas as the LTHW heating fuel when I select split/multi split HVAC. iSBEM allows this but I'm not going back there.
Has anyone solved this. Richard |

The problem is resolved in recent 1.6 versions. I suggest you try 1.6.9.002 as it is probably the version we will publish as the full 1.6 release.
