Dear Steve,
I have played a bit with the CFD module and looks powerful.
Couple of questions:
Is it possible to simulate exterior space winds, for example a 4 blocks in San Francisco?
I was looking at a typical floor for an office building: how is it possible to assign a surface as an opening?
Is there any available help for the CFD module?
Thanks and compliments, first time I see something like this.
Best,
Emanuele |

Yes, you can conduct external wind analyses at the site level. Just go to the site level from the Edit screen and then click on the CFD tab and the 'New External Analysis' dialogue will be displayed which allows you to define the overall domain dimensions, wind direction, wind velocity, exposure, etc.

You can define surface and opening CFD boundary temperatures at the various model levels from the 'CFD Boundary' header on the 'Construction' data panel tab. You can also add various types of boundary condition (supply diffusers, extract grilles, temperature and heat flux patches) at the surface level using the 'Add CFD boundary' tool which works in a very similar fashion to the 'Draw window' tool.

We are planning to incorporate the CFD documentation within the overall DB help system within the next week or so and we will also be posting CFD tutorials on the UK website downloads page.
Hope this is of help.
Regards,
Steve |
