Yes, it would be very useful for us if you could upload the .DSB file to the forum.

Regards

Unfortunately, your model is causing a crash in a section of the DesignBuilder code that Andy Tindale looks after and he is away on holiday until 10th August. However as soon as Andy gets back we'll take a look at this and get back to you.

Regards

Steve

There is a bug with the generation of EnergyPlus code for the convective/radiative heating system used in your model. To fix this problem, please go to the building level and on the HVAC tab changed the Heating type to '1-Convective'. This should allow you to carry out your simulation. The fix for convective/radiative heating systems will be available in the next beta release.

Regards
Andy

This may actually be a bug with EnergyPlus version 1.2. Your model simulates fine using DesignBuilder beta test version 1.2.0.024, which uses EnergyPlus version 1.3.

There are various ways you could solve the problem:

1. Download the current beta release. In this case you also have to set the 'Pitched roof (unoccupied)' data at building level.

2. Wait for the next beta DesignBuilder release which will be ready before the end of the week, and will definitely run your model, or,

3. Try using EnergyPlus version 1.3 with your current version of DesignBuilder. You can set this on the EnergyPlus tab, on the Program Options dialog accessed from the Tools menu.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Andy

Embarassed Certainly,i've encounter this problem too.I think this is a bug,i'm sorry i did't save the problem file.I fix the problem by putting together the building block again. In my opinion,it is not the hvac bug but the building.
In my problem building, there is a arc(>270) block, and then i and another block to fill the arc. Then the problem appear.
Good luck.I'll try to find the problem and upload.

Chao,

Please try using the current beta DesignBuilder release (version 1.2.0.026 or later) as this uses EnergyPlus version 1.3 which has this bug fixed.

Regards
Andy
