Andy,

I've been using the Salt Lake City weather file. The simulation results graph always has momentary outside temperature dropouts to 0 degrees. I haven't tested on other weather files yet.

I've downloading a new TMY2 file, I does the same thing in designbuilder even though the TMY2 file has no such dropouts. I've included the graph, this is just a week, though the whole year does this.

What is this, and is it affecting the simulation?

Hi Andy

When using the weather file for Auckland, New Zealand I also experience these temperature dropouts to 0 degC. This makes it rather hard to accept the validity of the values created by the simulation.

Does this 0 degC day represent some sort of "extreme case" for Winter design day simulations?

Thank you for your help

AJ

The problem with occasional 0 degF outside dry bulb temperature data is down to a display bug when IP units are selected and does not affect results. A fix will be issued with version 1.0.3.

This is not the case with the Auckland data which has six zeros between 5 and 10 a.m. on the 14th of May. I will follow this up with Dru Crawley at EnergyPlus.
