External component areas

External components, such as windows, when drawn in IP units, are not reflected in the correct size on the left hand side of the screen. For example, when a 1' x 4' window is drawn, it is displayed on the left hand side as 0.369 square feet. The area has been converted to square meters, but displayed as square feet. Does this impact the energy calculation?
