When will DB have a 3D DXF import?
I'd need to import objects like trees and 3D google earth terrian for accurate shading in the models. |

We're in the process of developing a component block assembly mechanism which will allow 'assemblies' to be created from groups of selected component blocks.
Assemblies are automatically added to a model assembly library and may be positioned throughout a model at building and block levels and may also be exported for use by other models.
Assemblies will be used to model various components for CFD such as radiators, fan-coil units, occupants, etc. but can be used for general modelling purposes such as shading devices, canopies, trees, etc, the geometry of assemblies being fed through to EnergyPlus.
As part of this process, we will be incorporating a 3D DXF import which will allow assemblies to be created from 3D DXF data.

I should add that you will be able to create ordinary component blocks from 3D DXF data in addition to assemblies.
