Please see the attached screenshot.
When opening a previous designbuilder file from V 2.4.2.018 in V 3.0.0.048 the file conversion process seems to work and the loading data begins, but then the 'Automation Error' box occurs and Designbuilder crashes.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Peter,
This model loads correctly on my machine with v3 loaded. I wonder if you have got some problems with your DesignBuilder installation or configuration. Have you tried rebooting?
Also, from the screenshot I can see that you have not switched off the Aero effect for DB. This is definitely required. Instructions on how to do this are:
When using DesignBuilder with Windows Vista and Windows 7 you should ensure that Windows XP compatibility has been set. To do this right click on the DesignBuilder icon you use to start DesignBuilder (usually either on the desktop or from the start menu) and select "Properties". Then click on the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP if it is not already set. Also check the "Disable desktop composition" to switch off the "transparent interface effects. Without these changes the DesignBuilder screen does not refresh correctly.
If this doesn't help you should try completely removing DB from your computer and reinstalling using steps 1-4 at:

Andy,
I've tried all your suggestions and still get the same error at the same point when the file is loading...
If I tried a previous V3 release would I be able to lodge EPCs with it?
Any other options I could try?
Many thanks.

Peter,
It might be easier if we remotely connect to your machine. If that is ok I will send you a link that you need to click on

Andy,
If you can post that link and try and get to the bottom of the issue that would be great.
I resolved the last issue by using a colleagues laptop... Now I am trying to start a new project and the software keeps freezing before I can even save the file.
Thanks
Peter
