Hi guys, I've been having a lot of trouble with weather files. First of all, I live in Mexico where there's only 3 weather files available for download, so I had to create my own.
I got the information from Meteonorm, exported it as a TMY2 file, then opened it in WeatherTool and created both an .EPW and a .WEA file. I open the .WEA in Ecotect and it works perfectly, but as soon as I try to use the .EPW in DesignBuilder, 2 things happen:
1- It says that the .stat file is missing (but that's okay, I'll just have to indicate the summer week and winter week).
2 - Then it prompts the next error message:
"Error de lectura C:/Documents and Settings/AllUsers/Datos de programa/DesignBuilder/WeatherData/MONTERREY.epw"
So..there's something wrong, but I don't know what. Why does the file opens perfectly in Ecotect (the .wea) but the .epw doesn't open correctly in Design Builder? |

Have you requested the epw file directly from Meteoorm? We have found these files to run well in DB/EnergyPlus.

The thing is that I'm working with Meteonorm v5, because v6 won't let me export the weather files (because it's a trial version). And unfortunately, v5 doesn't exports files in .EPW format, they introduced that in v6. here's the extensions in which i can export files in v5:
helios-pc
doe
suncode
match
ch-meteo
pvsyst
trnsys
t/pvsol
polysun
tmy2 (i exported in this one and imported it to WeatherTool)
lesosai
sia 380/1
try/wufi
standard
spectral
meteo matriz/TISO
PVS
i have no idea of which one is better or why. Any ideas on what am i doing wrong? |

There are several meteonorm files that were built for Mexico on the EnergyPlus Yahoo Groups site.
These should work well in DB and EnergyPlus. _________________ Linda
