DXF Import

I'm trying to import the structure of my building from 3d model made with autocad saved in dxf format.
However, after importing, the building is shown in 2D view rather than in 3D.
I have tried both dxf 2004 and dxf 2000, with no success.
Do you think I have to change particular settings while exporting ?
Do you think this is due to the large structure I consider?
Are there limitation for example in the number of archs, windows etc?
About this I tried to simplify the structure and I had an error message.

Luca,

The DesignBuilder DXF import facility allows you to load CAD floor plans into your model - it is not meant to interpret 3-D data. When you have imported in your DXF data you can trace over the floor plans to draw your blocks.
