Hello DB Team
I would like to know how to fill correctly the
"Auxiliary Energy Field" (DB v1.2).
I should insert the energy(kWh) per square meter per year:
For the whole Building (at Building Level)?
For each zone?
In the manual it says that the simulation for this field is modelled 24/7? What does it mean?
For instance, if I use the total power of ventilation and multiply for the same n.º hours/year that the lighting works, I have kWH, then I divide this by the building area. The result is 19,47 kWh/m2/year.
If I insert that value in Auxiliary Energy at Building Level, the simulation output results show a result of 0,39 kWh/m2/year.
I don´t understand how this works?

hello,
You're right. This data is in kWh/m2/year and is seized at building level for inheritance or zone if you need specific value.
The consumption is presumed to be the same (constant) 24h/24 and 7d/7.
In your simulation DesignBuilder will display this data as: value_entered / 365 * m2.

Hello
Thank you for your answer, but I still have some doubts.
You said:

Please confirm if this formula is correct:
value entered / (365*Building Area[m2])?
When I generate the correspondant IDF File, where Energy Plus inserts the Auxiliary Energy value ?

Sorry, I insist but may is it clearer like this: value_displayed = (value_entered [kWh/m2 for a year] / 365 ) * m2.
This is a daily or hourly constant average value.
I don't think auxiliary energy is passed to E+. in simple HVAC simulation, E+ does not model any system so does not know what auxiliaries consume.
In this case, auxiliary energy is treated at DesignBuilder level only (simple HVAC simulation).
