Dear all,

I am running (trying to) DB 1.5 on a vista machine - Nvidia graphics.

No real probs with the graphics or the simulations etc... but two probs are proving pesky to eliminate :

Impossible to draw construction lines.

Impossible to generate reports...

The reports are generated, but, as one is unable to select subjects to add to the reports, the report consists of a title, subject and name. Not very useful.

Any remarks or (preferably) help would be appreciated.

It could be a problem related to last beta versions. It seems V1.5.0.59 fixes this bug

- Impossible to generate reports…

Did you previously export data to report topics (Tools > Export data > Report)? Once you do that, it is possible to select topics and compile reports. Please see this help topic:

Ah haaa.

I will find and load 1.5.0.059 and see what happens.
(I am currently under 1.5.0.058)

As for reports - I was using the french language version - there is no possibility to export topics to report in the french menu "outils".

Cheers for the reply..... I won't bother you guys with modelling probs just yet - have to learn to walk by oneself eh ? !

Rufus,

I’ve tested v1.5.0.058 and it seems exporting topics to report is working right, both in English and French options. You only have to:

1. Open Exporter Donées dialogue.
2. Select 4.Sujet de rapport.
3. Go to Rapport tab (which appears after step 2)

This procedure will export a topic related to the software section where you are, and it is possible to export as many topics as you need to make a compilation.

Right...

I am either mentally deficient or..... I can't export conception hypotheses (hvac, activity, construction etc)to a report.....

As established in program help, you only can export data from DesignBuilder screens:
•Edit Screen - exports a non-rendered 3-D image of the building. Alternatively a 3-D DXF file can be exported.
•Visualisation Screen - exports a rendered 3-D image of the building optionally including shading and antialiasing.
•Heating and Cooling Design Screens - exports design data (graphical, tabular, spreadsheet).
•Simulation Screen - exports simulation data (graphical, tabular, spreadsheet).

Right now only is possible to compile an IDF model description (switching on “generate model description” in the Export data dialogue). It is planned that DesignBuilder V2.0 provides a more wide range of building description reports, including those you are looking for.
