international weather data

I would like to know where to find weather data for international locations in South America to use with DB.

Dear Timo,

DesignBuilder comes with all of the available EnergyPlus hourly weather data built in - simply select the location when you create your site and DesignBuilder chooses the nearest set of hourly weather data. You can get a full list of all the available hourly weather data from the opening screen by clicking on the Templates tab, scrolling down to Hourly weather data and opening up the + to the left of the country you are interested in. There is only one hourly weather data file for Venezuela - Caracus. If you have your own hourly weather data that you would like to use, you can add this to the DesignBuilder database. There is a section in the on-line help explaining how to do this.

Thanks for the information. Now I am trying to convert a file into EnergyPlus data, but having difficulties. The weather file was generated from meteonorm. It should be a TMY2 file, but when trying to convert the program crashes. Any suggestions on this?

Timo,

You would need to change the extension of the file to tmy2 to allow DesignBuilder to recognise its format.

Anyway, I have translated the file for you and posted on the site.
