Hourly weather data

Hallo

Is there an easy way of creating weather data file that is used in the simulation function for a region that is not on the DB data base.

Hi Francois,

If you have a complete hourly data set for a site you could try with EnergyPlus Translator, as Andy wrote in a similar previous topic:

“If you plan to do serious weather file translation you may be better off working directly with the tools supplied with EnergyPlus. The AuxiliaryPrograms.pdf documentation has a complete description of the file format and instructions. The E+ translator allows you to translate any format (the weather tools interface supplied with DB currently require the input to be one of a number of predefined formats).”

If you don’t have data enough, or don’t want to work hard translating data, could get help from EnergyPlus team:

“If you're looking for a weather file, first look at the EnergyPlus web
site:
http://www.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/cfm/weather_data.cfm
Then, check the EnergyPlus YahooGroup to see whether a weather file has
already been created and posted:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/files/Meteonorm_Weather_Files/

If no weather locations are available, then send a message to the EnergyPlus_Support YahooGroup with the location you need--one or two locations at most please! Usually we can create the files (using Meteonorm weather generator) within a few days.”
