is it possible in DB to model that the ventilation air is preheated/precooled by a earth duct system?

Hello,
You can't enter it directly in DesignBuilder by now but yo can add an earth tube definition in a text file to be included automatically in your simulation.
To do this, read InputOutpud EnergyPlus documentation then in the Simulation dialog, go to Advance tab and select your file under the idf heading.

Hi laurent,
I managed to replace the external ventilation outside air flow rate by earth tube ventilation in energy plus. Is it possible to combine the earth tube with ventilation heat recovery?

By now EnergyPlus does not allow this system. I have a look few month ago to find some work around but seems very uneasy and not tested yet by E+ team.
I suggest E+ developpers to improve system air inlet to not only take outside air, may be could you let this kind of message also on their yahoo group?
