The first time I tried DesignBuilder it was in Italian language. But I noticed that the translation was so poor, that it was better to use it in English language.
Now I have just tried to put the last beta in Italian language and the situation is similar.
I think that, if you are really interested in Italian market, you should resolutely improve this aspect. |

Hi adfc,
what do you mean with "poor"?
You're talking about the DB help guide, which unfortunately is only in English?
We're now translating DB interface into italian language and about 70% is completed.
Moreover, the help guide should be ready as soon as possible.
For any suggestions please contact me.
Thank you very much.
Ugo. |

I leave you some examples:
- most of components, in component library, and most of templates have not translation. Others have really poor translation: "bordi, fogli e rivestimenti", "Materiali sigillanti, mettere a nudo del tempo e rotture termiche"...
- in the right column (learning mode) you can still find translations that seem done by an automatic program, like "Puoi aprire alternativamente le scatole dell'intestazione del gruppo per accedere direttamente ai dati", "Gli esempi includono freddo-gettare un ponte sugli elementi quali i lintels della finestra ed i pannelli opachi in un facciata leggero", "potete definire i tipi di costruzione sotto la superficie differenti per le pareti esterne, i divisori interni ed i tetti lanciati", "andare alla superficie che desiderate lavorare sopra", "il tasso di infiltrazione puņ essere fissare...", "alternativamente lo doppio-scatto l'icona alla vista/pubblica i dati in un dialogo", and others.
Sometimes, even if I am Italian, I can understand the explanations only if I read it in English!
It is also true, as you say, that it is impossible to spread DesignBuilder in Italy without Italian documentations and without courses, where you can learn how to use it (I needed them, I looked for them, but there are not).
Finally in this English forum I found very important help in order to solve some my problems with the program, they always answer quickly; the Italian forum, in www.evolvente.it (and not only the section about DesignBuilder), seems abandoned.
Obviously I do not mean that the Italian team is not good, I imagine that it is working hard and that this work is not easy; I only want help you and leave suggestions about a lot of important things to do! |

Hi adfc,
thank you for your reply.
Which DB version are you using?
You left many examples which belong to the untranslated part.
You're right. These parts are translated by an automatic translator and very often are non sense phrases.
We're working hard to complete the translation within Ocotber. Now about 80% is ready.
Thank you again.
Bye

Now I am using the last beta, the 1.6.6.002.
I hope to see your stand in the next Saie in Bologna and I hope I will see a wonderful Italian DesignBuilder, with documentation and courses!
Good work! |
