|

Dear support team:
Well, at first I have to say that Iīm working with DBv.1.4,īcause itīs the latest spanish version. And then, Idonīt know if some of the following questions are solved in newer ones.
- Iīm drawing a dwelling and it has a scullery whose exterior carpentry is always opened, so we decided to cut this zone and draw it as a component block (but when I want to cut it, I have two problems: first one, I canīt cut it if the cutting plane is the same that one of the block...and if I cut with another plane, the zonification desappears and the partitions become suspended (light blue). And,if I can cut a block....could I paste some cuts generated by the cutting plane?
- Another way to solve this problem would be to can convert a zone in a block, somehow.
-And, if I canīt solve anyway it and have to re-draw all, I would like to know how can I inherit the component data for another dsb files, how can I do it?
And, in other hand, my great doubt, when I choose the results outputs, how can I select to get a GLOBAL demand value (not splits for loads) for example in a day, or month...(iīm interesting in a single daily value)?
If I could avoid redraw it at all and re-introduce all parameters, I would be eternally grateful...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Teresa. |

Dear Teresa,
We have not updated downloadable DB version in Sol-arq because we have some troubles with our current site and are preparing a totally revamped one. However, software translation has been updated and if you download last DB version from here (DesignBuilder UK) you get it.
Effectively, DB doesn't allow defining a cutting plane if it is the same as other in the block (inclusive in latest versions). One solution is defining a cutting plane slightly different from the plane of the block (e.g. with an offset of some millimeters)

Is automatic block zoning model option switched off? (Edit > Building model options > Advanced > Miscellaneous edit). If yes, please try rezoning the block (Tools > Rezone Block).

Firstly, you can simply save your current file as
delete every block and redraw the model. Also, you can save your actual file as template and use it as starting point for future projects. Also, you can export library data in your actual model and import it in other one.
I hope it helps. Best regards.

Gracias, Arturo (thank you)
Iīm looking for the latest spanish version.
I did the cutting plane as you said before reading it, ...it was so simple...I felt silly...
Iīm trying your other suggestions right now...I hope you are right....
Do you know how can I get a global demand value for one day, so that I donīt have to add-subtract all the results? I need just one number, and not a split loss/gains values....thank you very much
Teresa
P.D.: can you remember to me how to remove the vents included in external and internal walls? I donīt remember how it could generate...so I canīt remove them. Thank you very much |

Hi Teresa,
Im afraid it is not currently possible (as far as remember) to obtain summarized loss/gains values. However, you can generate it easily. Just ask the software to show data in daily intervals and grill format. Then export it as CSV spreadsheet file (Tools > Export data) which you can open e.g. in Excel.
You can generate and clear vents automatically in Openings > Vents > Auto-generate.
Best regards,
Arturo
P.D. Please dont feel silly, I have committed more obvious misunderstandings . It is the only way to learn. |

| Thank you very much once again.I agree with you. When you have so many inputs and hierarchies to introduce the data...you can become crazy...(at least, crazy to remember all about it....).I try not to miss myself...but worth a try!!!!itīs a great software... |

Arturo, I tried to clear the vents, and I got it, except in a dwelling, in external walls. I looked all parameters in similar dwellings in the building, which are ok, but I donīt find the difference...Any idea?
Thanks, Teresa. |

Hi Teresa,
It is difficult to know what is happening, but you can delete auto generated vents going to surface level (in the corresponding surface) and deselecting "Auto generate" check box.

Arturo |
