I believe the answer is you can't, but in case there is a way, it is worth asking. How do I combine / join / merge blocks? As in the opposite of divide.
To make my roof system the way I want, I end up with 60 different roof blocks. Shouldn't there be as simple command to join blocks? |

I’m afraid you can . It is possible to merge zones and blocks drawing holes and activating the model option Merge zones connected by holes (Model options > Advanced). Also you can use the model option Merge zones with the same activity.
If this doesn’t help you can upload your model with a brief description about what are you trying to achieve.
Best regards,

Thanks Arturo, but that isn't quite what I mean. I want to do the opposite of divide. Having 35 blocks that are seen as merged from the simulator is nice, but not the same as having them be just one block. If you have a roof that has been dissected into 35 different blocks, I understand I can open up the touching planes with openings and then "merge" them for simulation, but I want there to simply be ONE block. It seems this option is not available, and I believe it should be. |

| It seems that dividing on a cutting plane is the main tool to carve up a block, but it would be a massive time saver (and allow for an creating complicated blocks without the union/join command)if there was something similar to AutoCAD's subtract command. Of course, one would need to allow intersecting blocks to do this, but if there was a DB workaround to this, the subtract command would be terrific! |
