Andy,
more questions...
1. I see that DB doesn't account for bridging in the EnergyPlus simulations. Will this be remedied in the future?
2. DB interface is *very slow*, the slowest I've seen in any program. To make myself clear, the CPU dependant things like 3D and simulations are fine, it’s the GUI that is bafflingly slow: changing tabs, changing construction types, materials, opening dialog boxes, etc. Every change or click makes the computer blink for about ~1-2 seconds... making DB painful to use. Also the file i/o is very slow. Simulations happen in reasonable time, but then it takes DB a couple of minutes just to load the data in. I don't know if these are limitations of your framework, but will this improve in the future? |

Troy,
1. We plan to account for thermal bridging across corners and edges in the near future.
2. I have come across this problem with the DesignBuilder interface on my development machine just recently and I know roughly what is causing it, but have not yet found a solution. The problem is due to a bug with a third party component used by DesignBuilder and I have contacted the developers to get a fix for this. Do you have another computer you can try?
Most DesignBuilder users do not encounter this problem (you are the first to mention it) - it only occurs under certain situations and I managed to stop it happening on my computer by restoring the Registry to a previous setting.
Has anyone else out there seen this problem?
I will let you know as soon as I have any more information on this.
