Hello

I m a new user in this software.

I would like to ask you something. I made a 10x10m room (building) and I go to apply the materials and U values for each of one.

I noticed that in flat roof, in "Energy code standard-Medium wieght" the roof consisted from 3layers
19mm Asphalt
13mm fibreboard
74 mm XPS Ex. Polysterine

but i didn`t see the concrete under these layers. Should i add a new layer with 140mm concrete ? Why there is no the concrete layer in flat roofs ? or what else i have to do in order to have a real condition of my construction ?

Hello George,

Sorry it has taken so long to respond - we have been busy preparing for the release of version 1.2. Your question has prompted us to look into the standard flat roof constructions that ship with DesignBuilder and these have been improved for the next release to include a concrete layer for medium and heavy weight construction types. In the meantime, yes you can insert your own concrete layer, but you will need to make a copy of the library flat roof construction first.

Regards,

Andy
