Hi,

I am quite new to DesignBuilder, so hopefully this problem has an easy solution.

I cannot get the axis snap function to work. I am trying to move a building block to the origin. I get a snap point (green) at the corner of the building block, but nothing at the origin, nor any of the axes. All the boxes (x-axis snap etc.) are checked.

I have tried other things to see if thesnap works, such as drawing constructionl lines, but no snap there either.

I have created the building by outlineing it from an imported DFX file, which I have now removed. Could this have something to do with it?

I am using version 2.2.5.004.

I am very graeful for all help!

Clara

Hi,

You can draw construction lines over the axes. Get an intersection on the origin.
Using the Axonometric view, move the building snapping the bottom vertex to the intersection of the construction line.

Also, you can key in the length by which you want to move the block. For eg, you know the vertex you want at the origin is at x = 20, y = 10. Snap to that vertex, Snap the X, Y Axis Lines and then move the block 20 to the left. For this, once the block is selected and you have clicked on the vertex, just take it slightly in the direction towards the axis and type in 20 and hit enter. You should see one edge on the Y Axis.
Then similarly move 10 to hit the X Axis. You will get your vertex exactly on the origin.

I hope this helps.
