Ventilation with heat recovery

Hi Andy,

Is it possible in DB to design a ventilation with heat recovery in order to obtain accurate values for external ventilation heat losses ?

Hi Franck,

DesignBuilder does not allow ventilation with heat recovery, but you could achieve this by:

a) Simply reducing the air flow by the percentage heat recovered by the heat recovery unit.

b) Generate IDF building description using DesignBuilder and set up EnergyPlus outside of DesignBuilder.

I believe that the EnergyPlus developers will be providing heat recovery in the next round of compact HVAC description development. I'll keep you posted.
