Dear DB Team,
my company has purchased design builder for CFD simulation. currently, we would like to invest a strong PC to reduce the time for CFD simulation. some of our CFD simulation projects, it takes few days to converge. now we would like to ask you few things:
1. Has DB got a new version with 64bit? so we can get the computer with similar capacity?
2. if we have PC with 64bit, 24GB RAM, CPU 2.3Ghz (Quad Core), can it solve the time problem for CFD simulation?
3. Could you give us the PC specficiation which is the best for DB?
our DB version is DB242026
Look forward to your feedback.
Best regards,
Truc Pham

Dear Truc,

Although we have plans to develop a 64-bit version of the CFD module incorporating a multi-core solver, we will not be starting work on this until next year. In the meantime, you can increase performance by opting for a relatively fast processor (2.4GHz and upward) and although a multi-core processor will allow you to run other applications while a CFD simulation is running, it will not accelerate the CFD solution directly. You can also consider using coarser grids when specific problems permit and this can reduce run times considerably.

Best regards,

Steve
