if i assign a zone as adiabatic, does changing the construction types affect the calculation? or since it is adiabatic it doesn't make a difference?

Yes, if the new construction has different thermal mass then the chamge will affect the results. Adiabatic surfaces still transfer heat with the zone, but there is no heat transfer at the exterior boundary of the surface.
