Hi,

I'm very new to DesignBuilder, in fact, I'm in between switching from another simulation software. I was wondering if someone could kindly answer some questions regarding DB?

1. I'm mainly doing dynamic simulations of one-to-three room, free-running, detached buildings (no HVAC whatsoever). For my analysis I need hourly data inside the room(s) for the entire year, so 8760 values for each of these variables 1)dry-bulb temperature 2) dew-point temperature 3) relative humidity 4) predicted mean votes. I also need items 1)-3) from the weather file I use (although this I can easily get it elsewhere but would like to get it here if possible). Does the dynamic simulation in DB give you these variables in hourly timestep for the entire year? and in what format? is it in a text format?

2. Say I want to simulate 10000 variations of the same building Shocked , each slightly different (for example, has an extra window, etc.) Is it possible to automate this process via scripting inside DesignBuilder? For example, if I set up a set of different options in Excel, could I code DB to read the options from my Excel file and then DB would change the various inputs automatically (say, change the wall to another material) then run a simulation all by itself? This is a very important thing to me as this is the main reason I'm switching from my former simulation software because I couldn't automate the process.

Any advice is VERY much appreciated!
thank you so much!
Very Happy
