Every time I attempt to create a bivalent DHW system, I get an SBEM error and am unable to run the EPC.

I have stand alone water heater with efficiency and storage chosen (in place of 'same as HVAC', which doesn't allow for a bivalent system) as the first system. For the second, I have stand alone water heater with efficiency chosen and a 50 / 50 split.

Reversing the order of the systems creates the same error also.

Using the latest beta but I've had this problem for months and in the past have given up. Am I missing something please?

Bi-Valent hot water doesn't appear to work in sbem. I have tried it in sbem v4.1.c and v4.1.d with both DesignBuilder and iSBEM interfaces. I have brought it up as an issue with bre but they did not recognise the problem. Have you many zones served by the hot water system? If not then you could subdivide the zones with virtual partitions, trying to make sure that external walls are split in two to ensure the same daylight availability. You can test that this does not have any other impact on the calculation by saving your original file and comparing results (using the same DHW throughout).
It is a facility which I imagine is little used as it requires the relative loads to be known but I can pursue it again with bre.
Regards
Andrew
