To continue lodging EPCs you need to be aware of all the recent changes to SBEM

This course is for energy assessors who may have completed their DesignBuildertraining some time ago and now need to understand the extensive changes thathave been made in SBEM version 4.1c.

From 11 April 2011 SBEM v 4.1c must be used to produce and lodge EPCs and alsofor BRUKL reports submitted to Building Control for project started since 1 October2010. This version implements the extensive changes in Part L2a 2010 of theBuilding Regulations plus extensive changes and additions to SBEM. Just to complicate matters, transitional arrangements for projects started before 1 October 2010 allow the continued use of SBEM v3.5 for Building Regulation compliance calculations.

Energy assessors also need to be able to implement the new conventions andguidance issued by CLG in January 2011. Accreditation schemes have been briefedto monitor that assessors follow the conventions when entering data and avoid the use of defaults wherever possible.

DesignBuilder version 2.4.2 implements all the changes in SBEM v4.1c and hasbeen approved by CLG. We strongly recommend that all energy assessors usingDesignBuilder undertake our latest update course.
