“I found the Design Builder training course well structured and enjoyable, the software was quick to learn and once I became familiar with the stages of data input, I was able to create a variety of level 3 and 4 building models in a short period of time.

We have been able to produce EPCs and easily check compliance with the building regulations. This has been invaluable for our new build projects, where the actions to improve energy performance can be modelled quickly. The recommendation reports were particularly useful for this and it has already started to influence the design process and reduce CO₂ emissions. 

From my experience with iSBEM, DesignBuilder allows building models to be created much more quickly, especially when importing visual building plans. DesignBuilder also allows changes to be visualised instantly.

The software and training course were good value for money, much better than many other providers at the moment. I would suggest users ensure their computing power is up to the recommended level, to allow adequate performance on large models.

Design Builder has given me an enhanced understanding of building structures and improved my ability to compare the performance of services and fabrics. We will be producing many EPCs for existing buildings in coming months, as well as looking forward to helping developers improve their energy performance”.
